Crazy crush???

Recently I did a random search on youtube for Korean pop songs and I came across JYJ and then TVXQ. I was like wtf?! So gu niang.
But after listening to one of their songs
<どうして君を好きになってしまったんだろう> & <Ayy Girl>,  I found myself helplessly having a pop idol crush on Hero of the ex-TVXQ (he's now in JYJ). But he's so gu niang.
What the...

Maybe cos he's an Aquarian.

I'm going to be 30 soon.

Marathon aftermath

Bleeding knee. Screaming calve muscles.
Had my lunch, almost dozing off with a piece of chicken dangling from my mouth.

Standard Chartered Marathon 2010

Oh. My first marathon was nerve wrecking.
We didn't have breakfast cos' we were running late.
My stomach was churning due to the hunger and excitement.
I was so afraid that I would faint at the 6km mark or be the last to crawl over the finishing line.
Even though it was only 10km.

After dropping off at the baggage area in a muddy field, me and my sis proceeded to the starting point, thinking that we could grab some bananas to eat before we run. But the volunteer bluffed us.
There were no bananas at the start point.

So we fused into the crowd and waited to start. We thought that the grace time given was 30 mins after the official start time.
When we started running, it was already abt 850am. Official start time was 7.45am.
It started off very crowded and pace was slow - my advantage!
Somewhere at the 2km mark, I fell down while looking for my sis, who was stuck behind some strolling 'runners'.
I quickly picked myself up and just continued running (or rather, jogging).
At 3km mark, I skipped the 1st drink station. Not thirsty yet.
At 5km mark, I was at the entrance of Marina South (under the bridge) and dehydrating.
The sun was crazily hot.
At 6km mark, I pushed my way to grab my first drink in the run.
At 7km mark, at the ECP, the hottest and sunniest place, I met up with my sis. We saw a superman breezed past us in his very tight and shiny superman body suit.
Oh my God.
At 7.5km, my sis took off and left me struggling in the hot sun.
At 7.6km, I started walking. No joke, the heat was killing me. I felt cooked.
At 8km, I started having hallucinations of a drink station when I saw a white tent gleaming in the sun's ray, beckoning to me. I was at the F1 pit.
I gathered my reserved sugar energy and ran towards the tent. BUT...

No drinks. Only volunteers clearing up rubbish.

I wanted to scream.

So I slowed down to walking pace again. But I cannot walk too slow, cos' of the scorching sun  and heat.

Finally, at 9km mark, I saw a 100plus station.

I cut into the Q and grabbed an empty 100plus paper cup and shoved it at the volunteer refilling drinks.
He took one jug of 100plus.
My eyes widened with sheer happiness.
He tilted the jug towards my papercup while shouting at the rest of the runners,"...for 100plus pls move to the opposite station. There's no more 100plus here."
Then, without hesitation, he poured the whole jug of 100plus into my teeny weeny paper cup.

Only 50ml went into my paper cup. The rest wasted on my burnt skin.
I. w.a.n.t.e.d. t.o. c.r.y.

With that precious 50ml of 100plus in my hand and 1km more to go, I slowly sipped a bit of the 100plus through 500m.

At the last 200m, there was shade. And cameramen. I quickly picked up from a strolling pace into a run and overtook a few people. I wanted to make sure the cameramen took good pictures of me running and not walking.
Heh. Must fake abit.

Yeah.
10km completed.

Next would be Sundown 2011.

Skypark not fantastic... but the pool is!

Woah, MBS is so 'atas', that I totally felt out of place.
So, I dressed up nice and tried to look a little bit more classy.
LOL.
It worked.

The room was fantastic! (At least it is to a very average person like me.)

There is a dining table!

I did not get to capture the pool or the view at night cos' we brought mom to a very nice dinner at Hai Tien Lo. By the time we were back, it was past 11pm (and Skypark was closed). So all my photos were about the Skypark in the day, which was aw...ful.
I heard the view at night is stunning... for the first 15 mins.
Not a big space for you to move around at the viewing area anyway.
Personally, I felt HK's The Peak and Hokkaido's Mt Hakodate were more beautiful.

Mom loved the place. The food was delicious. Service was good.
When me and my sis did not want to have the Buddha jumps over the wall in the set dinner menu, we asked the waitress to suggest some other kinds of soup.

The waitress did a good job by introducing a simple chicken and white fungus herbal soup to me, and spicy and sour sze chuan soup to my sis. She even asked me if a not-so-thick soup was ok for me.
When the soups came, I was pleasantly surprised. The chicken and white fungus herbal soup tasted like home cooked (with motherly love!) soup with a tinge of fragrant bitterness (I suspect some kind of chinese wine added).
The white fungus was the best.
It was crunchy and bite size and piping hot. The spicy and sour soup that my sis had was a thick soup base. I had a sip but I didn't really find it any more interesting. Maybe cos' the chicken soup blew me away.

A pity, some of our friends played us out. In the end, my sis worked with her laptop, alone in the room (with mom snoring away) and I ended up drinking at the lobby lounge with some (boring) friends because the skypark is only open until 11pm.
And Ku De Ta charges $68++ per head for entry + a drink.
Insane.

Saw some fans waiting for what 2AM or 2PM korean boy artiste groups at the lobby of MBS hotel. The fans sat at the lobby until the next morning. All of them teenagers.
Oh. And the lounge with live band is really just for drinking. No food menu. No food allowed.
So, we had to move to the other side of the lobby area to have atas munchies.
But I must admit, the munchies were worth the $$$$$.
The cheese sticks were fantastic!

Breakfast was good - a pity it is not included in the room stay.
At 38++ per head, the variety was commendable and quality was more than above average.
But service needs to be improved.
The service staff had inconsistent attitudes. Some were very friendly and polite. Some gave a face like they were millionaires forced to work as waiters/waitresses cos' their fortune fell overnight.
One of them did not know what "Can I pay by Diners?'" meant. She was not a local.

"Sorry, I am not sure what you are saying."
"I mean, can I pay using my Diners' credit card?"
"Sorry, m'am. I am not sure what is it."

Hell. If you are not sure, pls get your supervisor or ask your colleagues, ya?

"Never mind."

So my sis paid by Visa. There goes my points.

MBS tonight!

Yeah!
My father has a free room at MBS from his business partner! Can you believe it?!
I am looking forward to the room.
But with mom around, we have to find ways and means to let them both DON'T MEET each other.
It's gonne be another hide and seek again.
Sigh.

Anyway, Skypark's going to be freeeeeeeee for us (hopefully! I suppose the room comes with free tix?)
Oh! And the inifinity pool!
Gasp.
Who cares abt flabby tums anymore?
LOL.

And I definitely will not dine at MBS fine dining restaurants. Who the hell spends $500 per head on food? That's vulgar.
I can treat 15 children to very good buffet with that amt.
I can bring my dog for several sessions of massage.
I can fly to HK with that!
Or else, I can donate it to Sea Shephard. I hate whaling.

After all, digested food comes out looking the same. Imagine: $500 turned into faeces.

Will post pics! (not of the shit)
